The artificial intelligence-powered plug-in named Safe DM , developed by Kelsey Bressler , detects and deletes photos of the genitals . Twitter included the plugin in question.
The new plugin that was put into practice by Twitter takes its power from artificial intelligence technology. The plugin, which contains the photos of thousands of genitals taken in its library, analyzes the images sent via private message and if it finds such content, it detects and deletes the message.
" I decided to develop this program after taking a nude photo from a man ," said Bressler, who said that he was also subjected to such harassment . Stating that more efforts should be made to prevent cyber harassment, Bressler adds that he continues the negotiations to integrate this plugin into other platforms.
Those who want to use the plug-in with a general success rate of 99 percent , just install the plug-in and give them message access. Bressler adds that artificial intelligence only analyzes unwanted photos and does not have access to personal chats in messaging.
Research conducted in the past years by the Pew Research Center revealed that 53 percent of women aged 18-29 received unwanted inappropriate photos.
