Boeing's space department said the company had bought Russian-made power converters for its new Starliner manned capsule. The private company, located in Voronezh , Russia , said Boeing's spacecraft was able to do the job most successfully to the International Space Station (ISS).
Boeing also said that the power converter unit manufactured exclusively for Starliner in Russia allows to transfer power from the space station to the Starliner. He also stated that these transactions are fully compatible with NASA's Commercial Crew Program .
Boeing Starliner has extremely interesting features. Along with 7 astronaut capacities, it can also show up to 60 hours of free flight operation and 210 days of ability to stay in orbit.
The state-of-the-art crew capsule developed as part of a $ 4.2 billion project was set to be launched by Atlas V rockets using Russian-made RD-180 engines developed by NPO Energomash.
