Digital Service Tax Comes into Force! Here is the Date

The digital service tax will start to be implemented shortly. Let's take a closer look at what digital service tax means together .

Digital Service Tax Comes into Force on 1 March

All platforms that offer digital services, especially Apple, Google, Netflix, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, will be affected by the tax. Any advertising services offered by digital service providers  will be subject to digital service  tax. The digital service tax  rate will be applied at 7.5 percent.

Declarations on digital service tax will be made until the evening of the last day of the month following the taxation period and the tax will be paid in the same period. Taxpaying and declaration procedures regarding digital service tax can be easily made at "www.digitalservice.gib.gov.tr".

If the regulatory obligations are not fulfilled, access to the services offered by digital service providers may be blocked by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Block before the decision, digital services will be warned the provider or representative in Turkey. The obligation will be requested to be fulfilled within 30 days.

If the obligations are not fulfilled, the decision will be forwarded to the Information Technologies and Communication Authority to be notified to the access providers. Access blocking will also be implemented within 24 hours.
