As we all noticed, smart phones have been experiencing minor problems in terms of technical features lately and are playing to upgrade some features instead of offering improvements. For example, we recently started to see higher megapixels, larger storage areas and more RAM. All in one, but is this much RAM needed?
Recently 8 GB of RAM and 12 GB of RAM have become the standard, especially in the flagship segment . We can even say that some player phones offer (or are preparing to offer) 16 GB of RAM . Although many people say this as " Wow is a great amount of RAM ", I say it by saying " Which smartphone needs why so much RAM ".
As a result, 8 GB of RAM still has not become a standard on many computers today.
Returning to the main topic, does a smartphone really need 8 GB of RAM or more? I don't think it is. As a result, you can recommend people with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM when buying a Windows 10 computer. However, if you compare it with a smartphone, a laptop is often used for much more intense tasks. The important thing here is that Windows 10 really needs it.
For example, fluent and better optimized operating systems such as Chrome OS and Linux do not require this amount of RAM. So you will see that they usually come with 2-4 GB of RAM and they work absolutely fine.
On the other hand, 3-4 GB of RAM is still used quite intensely on Android devices, and both the operating system and almost all the applications you will use will be optimized for devices in this range .
The main reason for smart phone manufacturers to make choices in this direction is to leave their competitors predominantly and to make the devices look like very high performance.
Of course, it is necessary to face that manufacturers want users to upgrade at least once every two years. At this stage, consumers tend to move away from this direction, as ideas and possibilities to make changes in terms of innovation and design are limited.
(Intermediate information: The rate of smartphone replacement on a global scale has increased every three years recently.)
For this reason, some new details that are seen as new and important but not so important are presented to the users. The same goes for RAM. However, it is not so cheap to put so much RAM in a smartphone and all of them are reflected in the sales price.
So what do you think about this subject? Do you think high GB RAMs are needed or is it just an inflated body show? You can share your opinions with us from the comments tab below.
