In line with the protocol regarding the Ministry of Interior Biometric Data System signed between HAVELSAN and the Police Maintenance and Assistance Fund (POLSAN ) , a company named BİYOTEKSAN was established with 50 percent partnership . The company, which was established jointly by the two state institutions, started to make various improvements on fingerprint recognition.
BİYOTEKSAN will develop a Qualified (Clean) Fingerprint Recognition Product in the first phase of the project and a Unqualified (Crime Scene) Fingerprint Recognition Product in the second phase. In the following process, a central National Biometric Data Management System, including all current biometric recognition technologies (fingerprint, palm print, vein print, face, iris, retina, voice and so on) will be put into use locally and nationally.
The software to be developed was among those that are said to be used in the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, the General Directorate of Migration Management, the General Directorate of Security, the Gendarmerie General Command and the Coast Guard Command.
