It turned out that an Android application that offers wallpapers with the theme of the Netflix series "Squid Game" appeared in the store without being filtered by the Google Play Store.
ESET security expert Lukas Stefanko said that the Squid Game Wallpaper application; found that it contained wildcard software that allows users to sign up for paid subscription services, and that hijacks SMS, contact lists, and device information.
The application, which has been downloaded at least 5 thousand times, has been removed from the Play Store by Google after the vulnerability was released.
