Gigabyte, AMD and Intel Confidential Documents Released Online!

HomepageArticlesGigabyte, AMD and Intel Confidential Documents...

Data stolen from Gigabyte servers; It can negatively impact many different companies such as Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA.
Recently, Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Gigabyte fell victim to the ransomEXX ransomware group. After the recent attack, it is said that a 7 GB secret data archive is now published on the internet.

This archive was probably released because Gigabyte did not pay the ransom demanded by the attackers. At this point, the company was given until August 12, and a lot of data was shared on the public website of ransomEXX.

According to the author of the forum post, the leaked two-part archive contains classified documents from several different companies, including Gigabyte. It seems that the source codes for Intel Manageability Commander and a lot of confidential information about AMD have been exposed.

Earlier in August, it was said that 112 GB of data was obtained after the ransom attack. Given the situation, the documents that are currently published are only a small part of all the data stolen from Gigabyte servers.

Recently, we reported that some information about AMD's upcoming Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series, EPYC Genoa processors and AM5 socket structure has been confirmed. It looks like the hackers will continue to release the stolen data unless they reach an agreement with Gigabyte.
