Microsoft recently announced that it will end support for Windows 10 Home and Pro versions in 2025, with a statement made on its official website. Windows 7, one of the most memorable and popular operating systems, received the latest driver updates via Windows Update as of June 17, 2021 (yesterday).
Microsoft Technical Program Manager Naim Mohammad, in his statements on the subject, said, "Microsoft will stop issuing driver updates for Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 via Windows Update as of June 17," and said that Windows 7 is now better than its own. has declared that it is an operating system that has been left to itself.
Of course, users who are included in the extended security update program called ESU, which Microsoft offers for a fee for its corporate customers, will continue to receive updates through WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) until July 2022.
Microsoft attributes the discontinuation of Windows 7 driver updates to the expiration of SHA-1 certificates. Partners must release SHA-2 certified drivers, which are not compatible with Windows 7, in order to release driver updates through the Microsoft Trusted Root program.
