Search engine giant Google objected to the 2.42m-euro penalty it received recently . The counterclaim against the European Union has started to be discussed.
The hearings of the case, which is started to be discussed in the General Court within the structure of the European Court of Justice , will continue for 3 days. The European Union launched an investigation into Google on the grounds that it provides an advantage to its shopping services.
Following the investigations, the EU Commission fined Google with a 2.42 billion euro fine for abuse of market domination in 2017.
Google has announced that it will appeal the imposed sentence to the institution that separates the truth from the wrong. The supervisory authority lies with the EU Commission.
