A new mysterious device produced by Google has appeared in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval. The device will be released along with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro later in the year. Considering that last year's Chromecast appeared at the FCC in August, it sparked rumors that another Chromecast version will be released this year. Many thought a new Chromecast was on the way. However, this does not appear to be the case.
Google describes it as a “wireless streaming device”
Recently, a product with the model number "GJQ9T" appeared with the FCC for approval. The company identified the mysterious device detected by AndroidPolice as a Wireless Streaming Device. No details about the device have been revealed.
According to 9to5Google, let's take a closer look at this new Google device and see what it actually does. First of all, on the day the FCC listing came out, Google announced that a new Nest Doorbell and three new NestCam designs are on the way. For this reason, this mysterious device is likely to be a new NestCam.
For now, we believe that the mysterious device is a new wired NestCam or a NestCam projector, as there is no more information. Some guesswork can be thrown off by the use of the word “flow”. The use of this word does not mean that the device will send and receive movies, television programs and games. Any video sent from one device to another is also considered a stream.
Last year, Google launched the new Chromecast as the starting point for the "Google TV" experience created on Android TV.
