To see when your WhatsApp message is read, first open WhatsApp on your phone. Then long press on a message you sent. When you do this, you will see some new icons in the top bar. Touch the three-dot Menu button, then select the option named "Info"This displays the "Delivered" and "Read" time of your message. “Delivered” means the date your message has arrived. “Read” means that the message has been read by the person you sent the message to. It shows when these activities take place in both the date and time under these expressions.
You can do this both in one-on-one chats and in group messages. In group chats, you can see the time of each individual to receive and read the message. Tap the name of the person in the group from the list for full details. See who has received your message, when it was delivered, and when it was sent. You cannot see the details of the texts posted by others. You can only see the time of delivery and reading of the messages you sent yourself.
If the other party has read the message but there is no blue tick that the message has been read, the other party probably read the message in preview without opening WhatsApp or disabled the blue tick "read" feature.
