Instagram is Now Open!
The social media platform Instagram has been accessible in Turkey since 9:30 PM.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement regarding the matter on his social media account on X.
In his post, Uraloğlu stated, “The access restriction to Instagram has been lifted” and also shared the “site information inquiry page” related to the matter from the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
Access to Instagram was restricted on August 2 due to the platform’s policies within the framework of catalog crimes.
During this period, meetings were held with the platform’s officials.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu had previously announced on his social media account on X that Instagram would be accessible again, stating:
“We requested that social media platforms respect the laws of the Republic of Turkey. As a result of our discussions with Instagram officials, they promised to meet our demands, especially within the framework of catalog crimes, and to work together on the issue of censorship imposed on users. Based on this, the access restriction will be lifted as of 9:30 PM.”
