Qualcomm officially unveiled the third generation 5G modem, Snapdragon X60. Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem features that passed through the 5nm production process are in our news.
Qualcomm's newly introduced Snapdragon X60 is the first 5G modem built on a 5nm node.
It supports both mmWave and Sub-6 versions of the 5G connection, while downloading up to 7.5 Gbps allows upload speeds up to 3 Gbps. Like the previous X55, the X60 works on both TDD and FDD networks as it offers global 5G support . In addition, it supports older 3G and 2G bands as well as 4G LTE.
The biggest advantage of the new modem is its size . Another innovation is Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), which allows operators to reuse LTE bands for higher network speeds and accelerate 5G delivery . Voice over radio (VoNR) is another new feature that provides independent high quality voice over 5G. The new chip also comes with an updated QTM535 mmWave module with a smaller footprint that previously allowed phone profiles .
