The time we spent at home due to Covid-19 has increased more than ever and many people have started spending time on the internet to solve their boredom . Researches indicate that there is a significant increase in social media usage time in direct proportion to this. Here are the curious details!
In the research conducted within the Communication Studies Application and Research Center of Necmettin Erbakan University, 577 participants were interviewed online and some changes in internet usage habits were observed during the epidemic.
Assoc. Dr. Murat Koçyiğit expressed the results of the research as follows:
"It was determined that the social media usage time, which was three hours before the epidemic, exceeded five hours in pandemic days. In the research, it was determined that 52 percent of the users changed their social media usage habits. According to 55 percent of the users, socio-cultural factors change their social media usage habits.
According to the participants, the diversity of social media platforms causes different satisfaction searches. 54 percent of users said they did not find their social media content reliable. On the other hand, the rate of those who found traditional media contents such as television, newspaper and radio to be reliable was 55 percent. "
