The Revenues of Play Store Developers

With the announcement made by Google  , it has revealed how much the developers who have released applications for the Play Store have made so far .

One Hundred Billions TL

Launched in March 2012 , Play Store is an important revenue gateway for mobile app and mobile game developers, with a large device audience. Google has confirmed that the payment to Play Store developers has been $ 80 billion since its release . This is about 480 billion TL with today's exchange rate  .

Although this statement looks quite impressive, the App Store seems to be a more lucrative way at this point.

Making a statement during WWDC 2018 , Apple said that as of 2018, the payment to developers was $ 100 billion . The company has also confirmed that the App Store is visited by 500 million visitors each week . In these two years passed, we can think that the difference has widened.

Beyond the exact amounts, we don't know the demographics or regions where developers make the most money from the Play Store. Play Store  publishes paid applications in 139 countries .

In addition, we can think that the actual earnings are higher because Google receives 30 percent of all developer revenue . Indeed , it can be said that gross revenues are $ 114 billion . If we consider that Android is the largest smartphone platform, the results here are disappointing.

However, despite this huge difference between the App Store and Play Store, data shows that it is possible to earn serious money from the Play Store.
