Twitter Working On New Feature To Prevent Lynches
A large number of lynchings can occur every day on Twitter, the social media platform used by millions of users around the world. A new feature is being worked on in order to prevent this situation, which makes users very uncomfortable.
Twitter's product designer Dominic Camozzi shared important information about the new feature called "Unmetion" and published screenshots of the new feature. According to information conveyed by Camozzi, users will receive a notification when a user is mentioned in a tweet.
On the notification screen, there will be the tweet in question and a button just below it. Users will be able to remove their own hashtag on a tweet with just a touch of a button. Thus, users will be prevented from being exposed to expressions containing hate speech by other people.
