What is a favicon?
Favicon, short for “Favorites Icon” in English, is the small graphical icon that will appear at the beginning of your site name when your site is added to your favorites. It is also displayed in the browser tab when your site is visited.

The favicon file, in which the Turkish word "site icon" is used, is usually 16×16 pixels in size and is a graphic file with .ICO extension. Most modern web browsers can now use graphic files with extensions such as .GIF and .PNG as favicons. Despite this, the general trend in favicons is still to use files with the .ICO extension.
