What is Byte?
The term byte is one of the most common words in the computer field. This term, which is related to the communication system in the computer, can be thought of as turning on or off by pressing the lamp switches. If the switch is accepted as 1 when it is open and 0 when it is closed, the computer's own communication system consists of these 1s and 0s. These 0 and 1 are not considered numeric. Here, the concept of byte, which is the most mentioned in the electronics and computer world, means that the binary system consisting of 0 and 1 produces meaningful results by translating it in machine language.

Every operation performed on the computer is performed based on the logic of the meaningful results generated from these 1s and 0s. The basis of the concept of byte is the bit term that composes it. The smallest unit of information in the computer, the bit (eight symbols), forms the concept of the byte. 1 byte consists of 8 bits, forming the unit of memory measurement. If an example is given with the word technogof, it is seen that this word consists of 8 characters. Since 1 character is 8 bits and 8 bits are 1 byte, this word means 8×8=64 bits, ie 8 bytes.
